The construction of a website can be broken down into three phases. First: the design, which is all about producing an appropriate layout and visual identity for whatever it is you want the site to do. Secondly, the design has to be written into a form of code which in turn is used by your web browser to generate a web page. Thirdly, the content - the text and images - of the web site itself has to be produced.
We can take care of some or all of this process.
We can design your website in many ways. You may already have some ideas that you would like us to work from. Alternatively, you may already have some branding or logos that you would like us to build upon. Or maybe you really don't have an idea at all. Whatever the situation, we can help you.
We will produce a design that we will submit to you for comment. We will then work with you to ensure that you like the design before any further work is done.
Once you're happy, the design will then be turned into the code that forms the basis of all websites on the Internet.
Coding is what we refer to the phase of turning your design into something that a web browser can handle. This code, better known as 'markup', is usually HTML and CSS. We write all our sites fully compliant with worldwide standards where possible, and this will help to ensure it looks good on all web browsers.
For sites with simple structures, coding can be very simple. For others with complicated designs or using different presentation styles in different sections, coding will take longer. However, once it is complete it is yours and requires no future charges.
When the layout and look of the site is complete, the next stage is to fill it with content.
Some prospective web site owners know exactly what they want each page to say, and what pictures they'd like on them. If that's the case, you can send us content in any way you like, an e-mail, a PDF, a Word document, a sales brochure, whatever, and we will put that on the site.
If you don't, that's not a problem, but you may be in need of our content production service too.
All our design and coding is chargeable per hour, and is done at the same flat rate of £30 per hour. As an example, a simple four page website, from design, to coding, with content written by us, would usually take between 10 to 20 hours.
As website creation is a bespoke service, tailored exactly to your requirements, we can only provide estimates when pricing up a project. However, we will do our best to give you an idea of the likely cost your project. To find out more, please contact us.
