Solid state drive upgrade

Solid state drives are the modern replacement for hard disk drives. There are two types commonly seen in consumer computers: M.2 and SATA 2.5" style.

Either provides a significant performance boost over an old fashioned, slow, rotating hard disk drive. We have upgraded a huge amount of computers in Andover with excellent results, and the results are always a pleasure to hand over to our clients.

If your computer was built pre 2019 then there is a very good chance it is still using an old hard disk drive. If you would like us to replace your computer drive with a solid state drive, you will see a big speed upgrade.

Memory upgrade

Computer memory is the "working area" from which your system stores and accesses the data which your computer is currently working on. Usually known as RAM, it is sold on sticks which slot into your computer. RAM is sold in different sizes and speeds, and purchasing the right one for your computer is very important.

We recommend a minimum of 16GB of RAM in a computer. Increasing the memory is often one of the simplest and cheapest ways to extend the life of your current PC - the parts themselves cost between £90 and £270 - dependent on how much you need, and the type of memory required.

If we suggest this to you, we will first check what your PC is capable of. If that complements the memory that is already in your computer, then your existing memory can be added to. If not, the old memory may have to be completely replaced.

The best way to find out whether this is suitable for you is to first get in touch and provide us with your computer's make and model. If it seems a good option, we will give you a quote and you can bring your computer in to us for the work.
